How to switch to another browser in the Manila "start Browser" tab?
After looking into the following question:
-How do I activate or get imbedded video (flash) to play in Opera? I found the answer at XDA Developers: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=544770 Basically install SDKcerts and make sure you have Microsofts newest .net framework. Then download and install fixOperaFlash.exe from one of the the links provided. It's a piece of cake. Works so-so on my Verizon TP2. Flash videos are really choppy, but working all the same. Web pages loaded much, much slower (duh!), and overall, I found it made Opera much less stable (lots of crashes). Granted I have not installed any video or 3D enhancement .cabs, either. We'll see. For now, Skyfire is still the "IT" browser. So, I'm still wondering, however is there any registry edit that would allow the stock manila page with the large "Start Browser" button to launch another program .exe (such as Skyfire), instead? Thanks in advance. Mike H Last edited by msh441; 09-28-2009 at 05:02 PM. |

OK, I believe this descerves a bump.
All the big brains out there doing registry tweaks and no one's tried to re-map the "Start Browser" button on the Manila Internet tab? ***OK, I FINALLY found the answer here: Confirmed working on my TP2: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=548770 Just wanted to update this post in case anyone found it using the search function...
