Problem with "*" Key in Phone Canvas

When I try to dial into my office voicemail to check it, I am supposed to wait for the message to startthen hit "*" twice.

When I do this it shows the letter p and w instead of the asterisk. I also tried using the hard keyboard to press "*" (FN + and I got the same result.

Anyone have any ideas on this?

I just tested it and see what you are talking about, though if you hit the * key, wait about one second, and hit it again it works.

the problem is that after it misfires once, my voicemail system just hangs... maybe if I try pushing it once before the voicemail picks up it will work....


testing now.

[EDIT] it shows up as * when the connection from attendant to voicemail box is ringing but once the box picks up it's broke again.

Sorry man, not sure what to suggest next. That is why I used one of our DID numbers for a voicemail backdoor on our phone system at work. Quick and easy access to voicemails. That and most of us get a copy of our voicemails emailed to us in .WAV format

Good luck and hopefully someone around here will have another solution for you.
