Can I get predicive text using the sliding Qwerty keyboard?

Is there a way to get predictive text on the sliding Qwerty keyboard like we have on the touch onscreen keyboard?

If I understand you correctly you are saying that if you start with the screen's touch keyboard in XT9 and then switch over in the same message to the sliding Qwerty keyboard the predictive text feature will continue to work. I just double checked my TP2 and it doesn't.

You could always use Classic Word Completion:

And does it break the soft keyboard like it did on the Pro1?

Why does it?

Confirmed Thanks for spotting this. I've known about my SYM key for some time but I was sure it was the Rhodium Keyboard Controller that broke it. I was not willing to give that fix up, so I've been living with it. I can confirm it is the Classic Word Completion that breaks the SYM key though

And finally to the OP. I uninstalled the Classic Word Completion cab and then played with the factory predictive options. It only works in XT9 mode unless you tell it to run in ABC mode too, through the options. However, it also works in landscape XT9 too, but obviously you have to pop up the SIP in landscape first to switch from ABC to XT9, then close the SIP. However, what I found was that the XT9 option reverts back to ABC mode when you close the slider and re-open it! So basically you're left switching from ABC to XT9 each and every time you want predictive text on in landscape mode! Predictive, just not productive

My apologies to anyone that tried the Classic Word Completion cab and found their SYM key stopped working. I had no idea that was the cause. A perfect solution IMO otherwise.
