Verizon TP2 speed test..

Just curious what people are clocking in at. I went to dslreports.com to test my mobile internet speed, and then I used speedtest.net to test my laptop speed while tethered to my phone. Ive averaged at 320kps. Not as fast as my XV6800... I used to clock in at 950kbs-1.2mps.

Re: Verizon TP2 speed test..

I got 2.5Mbps at work one day. Haven't gotten a chance to really test it as I'm usually in a place with almost no signal strength I do have wifi at home to use though, which is really nice.

Re: Verizon TP2 speed test..

I got 1.9/.5 today while tethered... I haven't tried much though besides that.

Although I did get 1.3/.6 while at home, with 1 bar of 3G.

Re: Verizon TP2 speed test..

At home, my reception has always been pretty poor. I checked speed today, and was only getting about 515 kbit/ sec average. I'm sure it's better when I am in town or anywhere there is better signal strength.

On a similar note, has anyone checked yet to see if Wifi G is enabled on these TP2's ? Or was it set at a default Wifi B setting like our TP1's? Even though they had Wifi G hardware and we could enable it through a hack.

Just wondering if we could use the same hack from the TP1 to enable it or is it already enabled this time around? I guess I could do some poking around on my own and find out, huh?

Re: Verizon TP2 speed test..

How about untethered - TP2 native - I went to www.speedtest.net and got an error that the Opera browser did NOT support Flash 8 or above.

Any ideas or workarounds?

I was tethered via WiFi with WMWiFiRouter yesterday and got a 48-52Mbps connection, so it must be G-enabled.

As for connection speeds, I hit a 2Mb/.5Mb speed, which actually beats my normal internet speed. Of course, it isn't normally this fast; I'd say I average at about 1.3Mbps/320Kbps .

Re: Verizon TP2 speed test..

1,321Kbps down, 518Kbps up. Beats my old LG Voyager by a good amount (821Kbps down, 131Kbps up). Not a fair fight though since the Voyager is only a rev.0 phone and this is a rev.A.
