Waking Up the TP2

I did a search, but I don't think I found what I was looking for.

Is there a way to wake up the TP2 without having to either push the power button, or remove the stylus or open the keyboard? For example, can you set the Windows key to wake up the device?

I am a little concerned that after a lot of usage the power button wouldn't respond (like 2+ years of use).

Re: Waking Up the TP2

I just looked and see nothing. Maybe a registry hack? Maybe Advanced Config?

Re: Waking Up the TP2

I am looking for this too. It is an old PPC option so I bet there is a hack, but I have yet to find it working.

I have Advance Config but no go. I also have TD2 Tools and it DOES have this option, however, every time I try to apply settings the program crashes.

So I guess the hunt continues. If someone does find a way to have any key turn device on please post!

Re: Waking Up the TP2

Go to Start/Settings/System/Key Lock and choose one of the options other than lock all.

That is not an option on my TP2.... the only "key lock" is in personal and the options are to lock with or without a password.

Hmmm.
Look here in the registry:
HKCU\ControlPanel\Keybd\
There should be a key named DefaultKeyLock (if it's not there, make it, below values are DWORD)
Setting it to 1 will lock all buttons when screen is off.
Set it to 2 Lock buttons if device is locked
And set it to 3 for not locking any buttons.
Soft reset and then try to wake it with a button.
