Re: active sync error 80072f7d

No guarantees, but try this:

Start | Settings | Connections | USB to PC | Uncheck the "Enable faster data synchronization".

I found this also:

Re: active sync error 80072f7d

I would bet that the certificate was self written by the Exchange Admin or it doesn't match the address. Probably going to have to manually install the certificate and maybe even the certificate authority on the device to get it to work. Depends on how it's setup.

Try this first, go to your webmail login page in your browser, and double click the security icon in the browser (on your computer, not the phone). You should be able to "view" the certificate, and depending on your browser (in Firefox), you click on Details, and then "Export" the certificate. Save it to your desktop and copy it to your phone and run it on the phone. That will install the certificate and should allow you to access the Exchange server.

If it won't open on the phone, rename the extension to "cer" and try again.

Even though I connect to my work server, I have an exchange box running at home, and I wrote my own CA and my own CER. I have to install the CA first, then my certificate, and at that point I am able to sync.

So if you can't get the certificate to be read, you might have to get a copy of the CA and install it as well to make sure everything works correctly.

Keep a copy of the files so that you can reinstall in the event of a hard reset.
