Low battery powering from USB

For those users that have just upgraded from the TP1 to the TP2:

When the battery is extremely low, will the TP2 let you talk continuously/endlessly while connected to a (non A/C) USB power source (USB port from the PC or USB cigarette lighter adapter?

The Mogul did with no problems. But when I upgraded from the Mogul to the TP1, a (non A/C) USB power source fails to keep the phone powered when the battery is extremely low.

How does the TP2 fare here? Inquiring minds desperately want to know. If it will continue endlessly, then I’ll need to upgrade to the TP2.

PS - I'm not referring to being able to talk from an A/C (wall outlet) power source, as this works fine with a low battery TP1 - I'm talking about the less potent USB power source, that again powered the Mogul indefinitely on a low battery.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Smile Re: Low battery powering from USB

From what I understand the USB voltage has two modes.... a lower one that is standard on all hubs etc and a higher power draw that a device (like the TP2) needs. I have on more than one occasion now, found the TP2 fully drained despite being plugged into a USB charger hooked to a wall adapter. The screen usually states low power draw as a warning. USB cables plugged into a PC, Notebook or car adapter work fine.

If you are using a dedicated TP2 wall adapter, usb cable plugged into a PC or a car adapter, you should be able to talk and charge at the same time.
