Re: Voice Command Caller Anouncement over BT

This is from HTC
Thank you for your reply. I understand the importance of having your Bluetooth Headset announce incoming calls. The phone still functions with Microsoft Voice Command using Object Push. To set up the device to send items such as your upcoming announcements to a Bluetooth headset, go to: Settings> All Settings> Personal Tab> Voice Command. Ensure the Enabled Checkbox is checked. Tap on Notifications. The first or second bullet should be selected and the checkbox Unchecked. Once this is done, tap ok and highlight Calendar and select Options. Make sure the check box to announce calendar reminders is selected. Tap ok twice. Evaluate the results. I hope I have answered your questions in detail. Feel free to contact us again if your have any further technical inquiries

Re: Voice Command Caller Anouncement over BT

Follow Up after another question to HTC. You guy and gals check and see if this helps.

Thank you for your reply. We do test the devices with popular brands such as Motorola and Jawbone. At this time, I suggest deleting the partnership and remaking it on the device. To do this, Slide to the Settings Tab> Tap Communications> Tap Bluetooth> Tap the device name> Tap Menu> Tap Delete. Then Repair the headset with your device. Once the device has repaired with the headset. Then Make sure the services are available. To do this, Tap the device name> Menu> Update. This will bring up the available services. Make sure the ones you want are checked. Then tap done.
If this does not resolve the issue, I recommend performing a hard reset on the device. NOTE: Performing a hard reset will delete all of your personal data from the device. Please back up your data using Microsoft ActiveSync for Windows XP or Windows Mobile Device Center for Windows Vista.
To reset the device, go to: Settings Tab> All Settings> System Tab> Clear Storage. Follow the on screen instructions to complete the reset. Allow the device a few minutes to restart and evaluate the results.
I hope I have answered your questions in detail. Feel free to contact us again if your have any further technical inquiries. We will be more than happy to help you. Thank you for contacting HTC Technical Support.

Re: Voice Command Caller Anouncement over BT

Once again I am disappointed to hear that the bluetooth is having issues. When I upgraded from the PPC6700 to the Mogul and upgraded the version of MVC from 5 to 6 I experienced these kinds of issues where the bluetooth wasn't announcing anything. It is sad to hear that it is happening all over again. What is it with HTC and Microsoft why can't they work together to fix these issues? As it stands right now my TP1 doesn't announce anything either over bluetooth except some random times. But it is not consistent.

Re: Voice Command Caller Anouncement over BT

I am seriously considering returning my tp2 and going back to my tp. Yes it had its hang ups, i.e over heating, daily resets etc. but it did everything the tp2 does and in some ways more, like caller id announcement. The proximity sensor on the tp2 keeps turn my screen on while in the case and the it dials numbers….. I will decide before the week is out. I really miss my caller id announcement.

Re: Voice Command Caller Anouncement over BT

try this:

Change the following registry keys:

HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\TTSAnnounce\Category
change from VoiceCommand1 to Ring

HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\TTSAnnounce\Script
change from as5p to v0p (that's v-zero-p) - for vibrate & ring, or p (ring only)

Re: Voice Command Caller Anouncement over BT

rdaprix,

I tried the registry change with no luck.

I too am very disappointed with the Voice Command/ Bluetooth situation with this phone. Everything else about this phone is working great for me; I love it!!!! However, even though I have all of the Voice Command settings correct, the phone will not announce text messages over headset, just phone speaker. Argggg!!!!

Re: Voice Command Caller Anouncement over BT

This widcomm stack is garbage, but will be fixed by custom ROMs which can have the MS bluetooth stack cooked in.
