Re: Official Touch Pro 2 defects thread

this is also a biased poll. people with screen problems are going to google it and find this thread and post their findings and vote in this poll. people with working phones will rarely navigate to this thread or take the time to vote. they really have no reason to vote as the information here doesnt pertain to them.

that being said it still sucks having a defective screen, i just dont think the percent defective is really this high. only htc and the carriers have the real non-biased data.

for instance, there's no way you can believe the xda poll saying that 50% (50%!!!) of the tp2 have defects.

also everybody in this forum are tech savvy and want everything to be perfect. the only thing you can gain from these polls is that some tp2s have problems, and of these problems, pixel issues appear to be the most noticeable.

Defective Screen "Click"

As we all know, the when you bring the screen down from the "tilted" position, it "clicks" into place. This prevents the screen from wiggling when it's in the slid-out position.

After using my phone for a week, it has stopped "clicking" into place consistently. For a while, I was able to get it to "click" back into place by raising and lowering it several times. Now, it seems to only want to "click" back when I grab it by the keyboard and shake it.

Admittedly, I've been using the tilt feature on a daily basis - however, I don't think that should be a problem, especially after a week.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Re: Official Touch Pro 2 defects thread

I ordered 2 TP2's on my account. I have had to exchange both of them due to them dying while charging. The first one happened on the first night.

Anyone else have this issue?

Re: Defective Screen "Click"

Yea, mine clicked pretty regularly the first 2 weeks I had it. Now it clicks once in a while. I don't really think anything of it since the slider and tilt work normally.

I ordered 2 of these mine is fine but after about a week my bf's phone showed a headset and you cant hear him if he tries to talk to you, but he can hear you and the other functions work. Called sprint and they said its a known defect that has to be replaced cant be fixed. the new one comes today so cross your fingers for me it works as intended!

You might need to use a little more padding. Basically what you need to do is to get the battery to press firmly against the cover so it stops moving. I still have a little bit of this when pressed on the side right below the volume button, but when typing or holding it in my hand, it doesn't happen anymore. Just try a couple different thicknesses, placements, etc. It should work eventually.

Re: Official Touch Pro 2 defects thread

I did this same thing on my old htc vogue. I folded my business card in half and placed it between my batter and back cover. I made a real nice tight fight. Def harder to take the cover on and off, but on the vogue the reset hole was on the outside. I hate how all the reset hole are under the battery cover now. Bad design.
