Window 6.5 Oct 6 release - Pro 2

I know this has been discussed already. MS will release mobile 6.5 on Oct. 6. How will they upgrade exisitng 6.1 phones (Pro 2 currently out).

Also who will wait unit Oct 6 release for the upgraded 6.5 O/S Pro 2 from Sprint-Carries if its upgraded at all.

I am going to wait until the 6.5 release. They may discount the handset for the reason at that time. Who knows!!!!

Currently, I am under the 2yr deal. Me like many others will have to pay full price, $599 + ship with maybe a waived activation fee (credited on next bill).

I can drool for a while!

I'm sure if it is a compatible device.. ie. TP2, it will come out in an MR1 update like 6.0 did to 6.1.

If they start shipping the device with 6.5, someone here will be able to dump the ROM and upload it here I would think. That assumes they don't just post the update like you can probably expect them to do anyways.

Sprint will let us flash the update ourselves when its released. When flashing official updates there is no need for the phone to be unlocked like when we flash custom roms.

Re: Window 6.5 Oct 6 release - Pro 2

It doesnt seem theirs any reason to hold off till 6.5 comes out. Most of hte phones purchased within a few months after that will most likely be 6.1 phones that are flashed at the store to 6.5 same way you would at home although i dont think theirs any advantage to buying a phone that has 6.5 factory installed anyways.

Even if you don't know how to flash you can still take it into the store once the stores receive the updates and let them flash it for you. I don't think there is pro's and con's either way. Some people will argue whether you need to hard reset prior or not, and then hard reset after. Other than that I think it really doesn't matter whether it's factory or self installed.
