Sprint charges 69.99 and gives unlimited data, unlimited text, 450 anytime minutes, nights start at 7, and now you get TRUE MOBILE TO MOBILE, FOR 69.99 UNLIMITED CALLS TO ANY MOBILE PHONE ON ANY CARRIER, so with all that verizon charges $30 more a month why in the world would you expect the phones to be the same price multiply $30 x 12 months and thats $360 savings in the year, is sprint charging $360 more for the phone, NO. Also with that $360 savings, at verizon your nights start at 9 and you only get mobile to mobile with verizon customers. THAT IS WHY SPRINT CHARGES $150 MORE FOR THE PHONE!!!
Basically everyone expects the same phone to sell for similar prices, just like TV and computers. The price difference just shows that when your locked to a provider they know they can fleece you at will.

you have to realize this doesn't make any sense. 1st when you buy the phone for 349 or 199, you are not in any contract so you are not locked into anything, you have to sign the contract then get that price. The full rate for the phones are close. 2nd when buy a tv you're only buying a product, with phones you have to buy a product and a service which go hand in hand. you should be able to figure this out yourself. I actually can't believe you just posted that.

Re: sprint tp2 price

Well ..

Got mine last week for a grand total of $501.35. At the time it looked to be in line with the said $350 plus a bunch of tax. I expect to see a rebate sometime.

Then I got the word last week about the Verizon phones selling for $199. And read further about some getting them for $99. Whoa!

So I get a call from my friend and sure enough. They pickup the phone for $99 with that includes an instant rebate at purchase.

So now I'm wondering. Why the big disparity between SPRINT and Verizon.

Anyone have any ideas? Maybe I'll swap this out for the HTC Android that's coming out on Oct. 11th.

Re: sprint tp2 price

Sprint is slowly shifting towards cheaper plans (ie: Any mobile, Any Time) and to not discounting the phones as much anymore. If you do the math, comparing about the same features in plans, usually (not always) you'll come out ahead over the life of the contract with Sprint, even with paying more for the phone.
