The frame rate is lower than that of the TP1, that's for sure but it is definitely still manageable. I mean, I only notice that its slower because I have experience with the same software on other devices. But it is by far still very well usable and the larger screen in this scenario is a BIG bonus.

This is my first install of 7.916.9189 and i'm really liking the small updates to the software.

Hope this helps.

Thats expected. Reason why its a bit lower FPS is because of the resolution. I am sure its running exactly like the PRO1 but since the resolution is bumped up.. you drop 1 or 2 frames. When i ran a older verion of tomtom I got the same results as Pro 1.

Yup, I am aware that the higher res requires more processing resources. But as you said, that's expected.

Really though, not a big deal.. the GPS is still very accurate and I would never miss a turn using it.

Re: TomTom 7 (7.915.9196) Graphics Issue

I guess I can live with the performance but I'm not too happy about it. Pretty aggravating when you spend close to $500 on a PPC and it can't smoothly process the rudimentary 3d of TomTom.

What I don't get is how Need For Speed Underground on my Touch Pro2 runs way smoother than this. Granted, they're not extreme visuals by any means but when compared to the low color depth and lack of textures of TomTom you'd think it'd be an no-brainer that it would run perfectly smooth. I know that NFSU came with a DLL called HTC.dll and the game is supposed to be accelerated on HTC devices, so I wonder what is going on with that DLL...

Iguidance works without all the choppy graphics atleast on the diamond. I am sure it would be the same with the tp2. it is just not 100% compatible because of the wvga screen. it will work though.

YUp, NFS is the ONLY game that uses actual graphic acceleration on the Pro. I have no clue why.. either the EA paid for it or it was a error. lol
