It was the registry editing that had me slightly worried because I had never done it before and I wanted to make sure that I did it right.

I figured out why my "no logging" wouldn't stick. I had to leave the spot blank instead of selecting "no logging" from the drop down list. seems strange, but it works.

Thanks for the feedback. Please let us know if your lag improves while driving.

Re: GPS Lag?

Garmin XT worked flawlessly for me on my VZW TP2, no need to perform any tweaks.

It updates every 1-2 seconds now, as opposed to every 10-20 on my TP1.

Re: GPS Lag?

So that I understand, can someone tell me how disabling aGPS helps the lag? I would have thought this additional assistance provided to establish and maintain the signal would be a benefit. Yet I see the instructions say disable it (which it is by default on our devices, if you go into Advanced Configuration Editor).

aGPS has nothing to do with lag while driving. It benefits people in office buildings or basements with weak signals. It might help someone who uses GPS to drive through a city, but it won't improve lag. Have you tried disabling GPS logging? Thats where the lag is.

Re: GPS Lag?

I disabled the GPS logging and got a slightly better level of performance. Still not as smooth as the TP1 is.

Re: GPS Lag?

Getting rid of the logging helps slightly, but using GarminXT in my VZ TP2 I can still see it reads slightly behind the NAV unit built into my truck.

Re: GPS Lag?

I Haven't used my VZW TP2 in the car, but just walking around I see no significant lag compared to other GPS devices.
