Anyone got this working on the Telus TP2 yet?

Good question. I don't know how easy it'll be without a 3rd pary ROM. If I'm not mistaken there are laws in Canada that block this, as you cannot record without the other person's express permission.

I don't know exactly why I know that, but it sounds like that would be why we can't :)

If you don't get caught, who are you hurting? Usually you do it as a memory aid, anyway, right? You listen to it later, make notes, and delete it. And it's probably legal if threats are being made against you, like in Kommiefornia. I know things are tough in Canada, since they made you subjects instead of citizens (when they largely dis-armed you).

True 'nuff. But hey, we have free health care, so I'll take not being able to legally record phone calls ;)

I heard there are HORRID wait times to see specialists. So unless you have the sniffles.....you are SOL for 4 weeks or more.

Uhm, I'm only an Internet lawyer... but I'm almost positive that if you're one of the participating parties that you're allowed to record the conversation (with or without conscent) if the recording is for personal or journalistic purposes.

If the recording is for anything commercial, recording must be disclosed (the reason why most companies say that this call is being recorded and "may" be used for training purposes.)

Ha ha ha, Silly Americans. You think because you have a gun you're not a slave to the oligarchy you call government? Keep drinking the kool-aid... You probably should be worried about the abomination that's called the patriot act, and the NSA that has been secretly recording everything for years.

Depends on the specialist, and how life threatening it is. Elective surgery/specialists, the line can get pretty long 4 - 6 months isn't that uncommon. Either way, I'm quite confident that an extremely low percentage (like zero) of Canadians would be willing to give up their system for the US one.

We're not all silly Americans. I agree with you 100%.

At least we do not take months to get an appointment to see a GP.

I REALLY don't want this thread to be jacked into health care debate. If you want that, and the mods don't care... start another thread.

GP = Family doctor, I can't "walk-in" to my family doctor... but I routinely see mine within 2 - 3 weeks of trying to schedule an appointment... which is more than fine with me for routine yearly checkup type stuff. If I don't want to wait that long, I use the walk-in clinic down the road and get seen in 10 - 45 minutes (cold/flu type stuff). If that's closed and/or I need immediate care I walk-in to the hospital. ALL of the occurs with ZERO hesitation because there's no out of pocket expense.

Either way, if you really want to continue this "debate" start a new thread...
