Deleting Data Connection, permanently.

I've stated in another thead that I do not use data (because everywhere I go seems to have wifi) nor do I pay for data on my bill. That being said, I would like to know how to permanently disable the data connection (#777)? If I delete it in the phone, and I need to do a soft reset, it comes back and I have to delete it all over again. rather annoying. I tried using Advanced Config, and disabled the search for 3G data on start up, but that did nothing upon soft reset. TIA : )

Took this from another thread..

you also need to delete the HTCguardian file (I think that's what it's called) from Windows startup or it will recreate the data connection at every restart.
Not sure if it works but worth a look.

Is this generic HTC or specific to the TP/TP2?? I actually have a friend who would LOVE to take the data capabilities away but he has one of the VZ 6800's...

Thanks! While I'll never undertand why anyone would have one of these phones without data (This excludes the OP as I don't know anyone with wifi access all/most of the time, but I am in NEEEEBRASKA) this will be very useful.
