So how is the camera?

Can anyone comment on the camera yet? Is it still as slow as the original TP?

actually i herd it was great. The camera the Diamond2 is the same as the one on the TP2. Look for a Cnet First look on the Diamond2, they go over the camera.

or listen to this guy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uONMuEeTo7A

The camera in the diamond 2 is a 5 MP and the one in the TP 2 is a 3.2 MP.

Frankly, MP has less to do with photo quality than the lens does. I have an old Kodak, about 10 years old, with only 1MP, that takes great pictures. But it also has a great lens. Raising the MP's on cell phone is kinda pointless

Meh, I find the quality is about the same as my old diamond, but it is a bit quicker. Doesn't feel even remotely as laggy as the stock diamond ROM.

I guess that's saying a lot too, because most things worked very badly on the stock diamond/TP ROMS, whereas the stock Telus TP2 is running amazingly straight outta the box.
I can't wait to see how awesome this device is going to be when the custom builds start rolling out.

Here's a photo I took somewhere last weekend when I was in the middle of nowhere ...

As you can see, this photo is a bit tricky because I was in a car pointing outside subjects and the windows (factory tinted) was not fully opened as you can see.

Not bad for a phone cam :thumbleft:

To be 100% honest, I'm pretty dissapointed by the camera on the TP2. I used to take tons of photos with my diamond. The quality was pretty amazing considering it had no flash and was a 3.2 mp cell phone camera.

Comparing the quality of those pics to the ones I take with my TP2, it's just no good. The colors come out nice and bright, especially in well lit areas. And the contrast is pretty good, but there is alot of 'noise' and grain to most photos. The picture quality is just not that good.

It's fine for quick 'look how drunk i got this weekend' facebook pics, but other than that it won't do you any good if you want to take some nice artistic photos, which surprisingly I could do with the Diamond camera.

As I said, the picture I took was a tricky picture for a phone camera. I didn't test very much the camera though, but maybe a "100%" outside picture would be better.

I got question for you guys : what is the gps picture we can take ? Is it some sort of "footprint" like the touch cruise ?
