Youtube sound doesnt work in high quality mode

First of all i didnt follow this forum for quite a few month now so sorry if this was discussed before(quick search didnt turn up anything). If i watch youtube videos in high quality about 80% of videos have no sound at all, if i switch to fast-download - sound works on 100% of videos but obviously the video quality is pretty bad. It wasn't always like this - it worked great before and only started to notice it about 3 month ago(could be even more). Is that a known problem and if so is there a fix?
I am on LD custom ROM(from a while ago) with SPB mobile shell.

Try a different rom. I had this exact same problem with lead rom and the stock sprint rom. I am now on VIN rom and get sound with you tube HQ. You could also try a task 29 and then reload the current rom you are on and see if that helps.

yeah, I've got this issue too, fortunately I can usually find a version of the video that i want that will play sound. You'd think all the sound would be encoded the same on youtube, but for some reason some work and some don't

I've attached a fix that worked for me in my kitchen. All you need is a newer version of DShow from a more recent device (Leo/Oboe/etc.) and HtcDXRenderV.dll from Rhodium (otherwise, you get sound and no picture lol). I've never tried to install it by cab since I just cook it in, but I have a feeling it should work fine. Let me know one way or the other .

edit - I guess it has to be cooked in. I could not get it to work on the stock sprint rom by cab installing. The new Dshow's that work are pretty different from the version that comes with Rhodium devices.

I have the same issue. I noticed it yesterday when I had the phone hooked through the tape deck, listening to it in my car. Even the ones that I picked that I knew sounded great, still sounded terrible.

this was another known issue in the stock sprint 6.5 rom or on LEAD ROM. once i switced to VIN's ROM or a stock 6.1 rom on my TP2. this was no longer an issue for me.

not trying to argue , but how is this a windows mobile build issue ? isnt it more related to the htc youtube app ?
