*Solved* Call audio only in speakerphone mode.

I have a sprint tp2, and after reading around I thought I would try the VW 2.37 radio. Everything seemed to be working well, but I didn't try making any calls then.

The radio change could be related, or coincidental

Today I tried to make a call, and notice there is no sound. When I was testing Android I saw a similar issue. This seemed similar so I hit my speaker phone button, and there was audio.

So I tried a hard reset. Still no call audio.

I re-flashed the whole sprint 6.5 stock rom with the 2.32 radio. No change.

I task 29'ed the phone, and reloaded with stock 6.5. No change.

I task 29'ed and then loaded 6.1 with no change.

The issue is present in both WM and Android.

The phone has not suffered any physical harm that I think could cause this.

I would love some more suggestions of things to try. I am at a loss as to why I can't get audio from the regular ear piece.

-Was a grounding issue between the ribbon cable and body.

Sounds like a faulty ear piece. Take it into sprint.

Re: Help. Call audio only in speakerphone mode.

Sprint told me I needed a new screen. I knew they were just blowing smoke, and headed out. I did a tear down myself today, and found a small spot that was worn on the ribbon cable between the two halves. I covered this with some scotch tape as it was the thinest thing I had around, and I now have sound again.
The moral of this story, it sucks when ribbon cables ground out.

All the software changes you made with no effect should have been a sign you had a hardware issue.
