How do I make mp3 work as ringtone?

I am on Energy ROM. I have put a 15 to 20 second clip mp3 in mydocuments but cannot select it as a ringtone.

I see there is a ringtone directory. Do I need to move it in there? If so how? File explorer does not give me an option to move it.

Sorry for the noob questions, I am new to Windows Mobile and the TP2.

doesnt "tap n hold" give the option to save as ringtone? yes there is a directory in windows too.

If your on NRG rom use the MP3 Trimer and it will let you select the section of the song then set it as your ringtone. Start/Multimedia and its in there

Create a new folder on the root of your memory card named "My Ringtones" and copy all your ringtones/mp3's into it. They should now be selectable in your sounds/notifications settings, saving you some of your device memory.

simpliiest thing OP, wouldve just been putting them in My Ringtones to begin with..

you can also highlight the file, menu>edit>copy/cut..... menu>edit>paste just about anything in file explorer..

you can also: menu>select messages>several/all ....then tap any files youd want to move and then just: menu>edit>copy/cut..

and you can "tap and hold" for menu options..

theres lots of ways to navigate around in file explorer..

even though you had the answer figured id show you a little more for the future

hey. im trying to help the guy i sold my old tp2 to. i flashed him energy last year when i sold it to him and set him up with some cabs and ringtones too. well, i flashed vins neodium to it for him on tuesday at work, and he called me up on wednesday saying he couldnt remember wher to cut and paste his mp3s to make them ring tones. i dont have the phone infront of me, but id like to help him out. can one of you tell me the exact file path to take him to the ringtones folder in his internal storage? if i had the phone in front of me, im sure i could navigate to it just by browsing a little, but i dont. id like to make it as simple as possible for him.
any help guys?
