Post ActiveSync Disconnecting During Unlock?

I'm having a problem with ActiveSync during my attempts to unlock my TP2. I start the "Rhodium_W Hard-SPL" unlocker, click on the manual flash button, click okay, and when it finally starts to do its thing, ActiveSync disconnects and stops the whole process. I get an error dialogue from the unlocker afterwards, but nothing has happened to my phone. What is going on?

I have the cable in the phone and the USB, the phone and the computer are synched, ActiveSync recognizes the device, and everything else seems to be fine. I can't think of anything else that could be wrong.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance. (:

I suggest you uninstall and reinstall ActiveSync/WMDC on your PC. Then do a clear storage/hard reset on your tp2 and then after it boots up and is running try again.

You may need to temporarily turn off the antivirus program on the pc.

Re: ActiveSync Disconnecting During Unlock?

horndoctor: I've already uninstalled and reinstalled the ActiveSync software more times than I can remember. It didn't solve the problem.

eric12341: That's exactly what I've been doing.

demonlordoftheround: I've also done that, too. I've disabled anti-virus programs AND firewalls, but the same thing's been happening.

Re: ActiveSync Disconnecting During Unlock?

possibly a hardware issue ? I have had this exact problem on multiple devices . I noticed it wasn't the actual lock screen . but me holding my phone and moving it around while its plugged in . the terminals in the device would quit making connection . try doing it while the phone is laying down on a desk and unlock it without picking it up .

Ok, but did you also hard reset/clear storage on your device before you tried to unlock? I suggest this because another member here was having unlock troubles until they hard reset first.

Re: ActiveSync Disconnecting During Unlock?

elesbb--yes, every time I tried flashing, I had my phone laying face-up on a desk and I did not touch it. What does your attached .cab do?

horndoctor--no, I actually didn't hard-reset everything before trying to unlock it. How would I do that? Also, using PimBackup to back up all of my settings would restore my information (contacts, notes, etc.) if flashing still does not work, right?

Yes, do a backup using something like PIM Backup before you do anything so you can restore/transfer that data whether you flash or not.

Go to your Settings Tab then click All Settings then make sure you are looking at the System Tab then click on Clear Storage and follow the directions to Clear Storage/Hard Reset.
