According to microsoft there will be no client for windows mobile (not suprising as they officially discontinued it)

The Next Generation of Communicator Mobile - Lync 2010 Mobile

Your best bet if you wish to keep your current phone is to:

1) either to hope for a 3rd party releases one for winmo (which is pushing it due to winmo being discontinued)

2) A java client is released and using a JVM

3) Loading up Android port and getting a 3rd party Android Lync client (Though current implementations require a CWA server)

Re: Lync Client 2010

or option 4) get a wp7 device with mango which will have lync built in or added via first party app, first party is usually better than 3rd party.

Those were for options if he planned to keep his phone...hence it can't be option 4...

If getting a different phone is an option, then yes WP7, iphone and Symbian(or meego?) will be getting official clients from M$.

The 3rd party options right now are unofficial ones...once its ready, the official partner clients will probably just as good.

But again, he is using STC Telecom..so his options may be different then what we have...

Re: Lync Client 2010

for option 3, LYNC 2010 environment different from OCS 2007 R2 as there is no CWA for it anymore. so this option is also canceled with option 4....
that's mean the best bet for now is to wait for a 3rd party application.
thanks
