Make TP2 Finger Friendly like just new phones!

4 Attachment(s)
Are you tired of pressing icons and not having the right action take place?:cwm10:

Are you frustrated beyond belief when you cannot press the corner icons...:-s
OR cannot drag that slider without your stylus, which most of us lose?:banghead:

Finnally, do you feel like throwing your TP2 across room(!)angry9:
at your Android friend, :geek:
when they bragg about their screen that they press so effortlessly?:-\"

Looks like time for a new phone, right:dontknow:

Well to prolong the life of my TP2, so I could make it till my upgrade,
I decided to make a cab to try to address this problem..:toothy7:
tested, retested countless settings, 27 registry edits in all.:confused2:

Now, I can finally press things with my finger and it will do what I want.:thumbleft:
I have also made some setting changes in HTC Sense and Opera,
to make the phone more buttery smoothness.

Just install cab, AND reset..
Try and let me know what you think!
:present1:

EDIT: will post slimmer cabs for those not needing Sense or Opera smoothness..
Changelog:
updated version in "Tweak2" cab for fatter finger and more sensitivity..
Tweak3-discovered and adjusted HTC overlay Transitions
Tweak4-increased HTC overlay transition response
Tweak5-increase GLYPHCACHE for faster flo
Tweak6-adjust HTC AnimationRadio
Tweak7-adjust HTC RepaintTime
Tweak8-Lighter FingerTouch sensitivity, increase speed
Tweak9-HTC Album finger and speed tweaks, easier flicking in Sense, more sensitivity overall
Best 10-Fix Gsensor battery drainage, Fix Hyper-Sensitivity in OperaMini. Best cab..
MaxedMega 11 cab:
new keyboard fingering setting adjustments for less mistakes.
increased sensitivity adjustments
recalibrated settings to stabalize the increase
more finger flicking response in HTC
better stability when dragging, because of slight increase in finger pixel range.
MaxedMega12-Ugg! I inadvertently disabled rotation! (Opera&mini), Fixed to normal rotation settings.
MaxedMegaa13-remove all rotation tweaks except opera which I believe is default

Use "MaxedMega_iFingerToucht13.cab" !
below for latest and hopefully last time I'll mess with this...
Reset after install.
Remember these settings are for TP2 and MAYBY any similar device that has same size screen only!
UPDATE: Works on TP1
Also, only recomeded screen protector is "Bestskinsever".
As of 6/9/2011 is is the best at touch response and feel..

OO! I like buttery smooth. lol

Thanks! :D

Re: Make TP2 Finger Friendly like just new phones!

The opera butteryness comes at expense of slightly more ram usage,
so I may make another cab without the Opera settings,
an another cab for those that don't use Sense.
But for now I like it as is.

the wm builds from 21052 and up were finger friendly enough I thought? at least I haven't had problems. looks good tho I'll have to pick up my tp2 and try it.

Here are slimmer version cabs for those that don't use either Sense or opera, or both:
EDIT:
removed as they needed updating,
Will post on first post when ready..

I have always been mainly a 6.5 user, not a 6.5.x user.
So that dam little "X" on the corner and scrollbars where always elusive to me.
I also scroll my memcard and windows folder alot and it is not finger friendly as
a phone like your new one 8-)

I tried your first cab and the main thing I noticed was opera scrolling is smoother dunno about screen sensitivity because I already had that Azarsunny iTouch cab installed. Should I have uninstalled that iTouch cab first? hmm..

Yeah it is not needed as I included those 2 reg entries in that cab.
BUT you can leave in, because if you do uninstall, you will have to re-install mine to put back in,
as uninstalling it would prob undo those two changes in my cab as well.

Things to notice:
scrolling contacts more fluid.
scrolling in file browsers more fluid.
LESS mistakes pressing or scrolling.
easier pressing those little buttons on corners or sides.

stylus not needed like in newer phones.

There is a limit to adjusting the settings.
I don't know how much more I can get it finger friendly,
time will tell but so far good enough for me.

Very good! Thanks!

I guess one could use your cab on other devices like the Diamond that maybe use the older TouchFlo3d or would the Sense tweaks you put in not apply to TouchFlo3d?

I'm using Opera Mini. Which cab should I install?

Also, is your cab "uninstallable" if it causes problems?

I'm excited to try it!

Install cab first post.
It works on Opera mini.
you can uninstall like any other app no problem.

Re: Make TP2 Finger Friendly like just new phones!

Does this effect the dropdown menus, like the ones when you're editing a contact or calendar item? Those are the only thing that really bugs me about the phone, Sense should have fixed those.

Thanks for the CAB, it's people like you that make these phones usable.

FYI The cab without Sense Tweaks works best on TP2s using the Rhodium Manila Touchflo3d. :)

Re: Make TP2 Finger Friendly like just new phones!

I installed the non-sense version since I'm still using TouchFlo. Just so I understand...this doesn't really make any changes to the UI, it just makes existing features a bit more sensitive and responsive...correct?

Thanks for that~ It seems much good now.
BTW, can you make some more tweak in message programe for reading sms?

As far as I know. If you install the largest first cab then it is supposed to.

It's supposed to actually change the UI, or just make the existing UI more sensitive? I installed the cab and don't see any major changes.

Well as I understand it, it's supposed to improve touch response and scrolling in the Sense and WinMo OS in a more global way but obviously it doesn't change the UI significantly with less than 5KBs. ;)

Re: Make TP2 Finger Friendly like just new phones!

Oooh, I definitely have to get on my phone later and download this. I hate pressing onscreen buttons, the actual button LIGHTS UP like you press it, but it does absolutely NOTHING. I can keep pressing it over and over until finally it activates the button. It's SOOOOOO annoying .... I'm thinkin like... hellloooo ..i'm pressing it.. why isn't it working? Duhh lol

Hmm...I guess we should uninstall previous cabs before installing the latest version? Are the changes significant? Were the versions without Sense and Opera tweaks updated also? Just curious.

Thanks so much Maxx for all your work on this! :thumbleft:

EDIT: I havent updated the other cabs in the other post yet. (the ones without the Sense/Opera).
I may bother at a later time as it is not a big deal to have reg settings for them.

I got pissed off at how stupid the Sense Album was working with my thumb.
So I have another update on the way with more Sense tweaking.
have to insert my new changes into cab.
will post after dinner ..

I left all older versions for those that may like then as they had less done.

Just use "Maxx134_iFingerToucht9_Final.cab",
the last one on bottom first post.

It's like a fade transition when swiping left/right in emails to go to the next message

I have your cab installed for about a day now , and noticed extreme battery drainage .. I usually made it through a whole day on one battery starting from 530 to around 9pm .. any input on this ?

Wow thanks for this input!
I thought it was my battery acting up again(I have an extra Mugen brand 1800ma)

Anyway yes I had to fix that!
I had the "GSensor" polling way fast like in an Energy rom.
So I set them (3places) to normal values of 1000 (instead of 300!)
Also I had to update it anyway as Operamini was too hyper sensitive on thumb swipes.

So go back to first post for hopefully my last update as i think it should be fine now.

Again thanks for the input as I am only one (distracted watchn TV most time lol) so any suggestions/observations always help!

Gave it a try and agree, Opera mini was BLAZING! like a stroked 327 on nitrous, yet found myself smiling. Great job.

Maxx you are the man! :D

I decided to uninstall the no sense tweaks cab because I was noticing battery drain too and I am glad I did! The last cab you posted works great! So I'd say you have made a great improvement for this device. Nice Work! :thumbleft:
