My TP2 _ALWAYS_ stals for about 20-30s on text messages (help?)
 

I'm using Juicy's ROM and I was on MR a while back and even tried NRG. Every time I try to exit from the txt tab, my phone stalls for a good 20 seconds. Does anyone know why, or how I can fix this? Does any ROM fix this problem?


Also, bring on the inevitable flames.

nothing much to do except the following:

1)flash a sense 2.1 ROM or use WM messaging
2)delete all old texts.

I've deleted all of the old messages thinking this was the problem, but it hasn't helped.

Can you tell me why Sense 2.1 specifically is good? Do you have any recommendations on which one to flash?

What's WM messenger?

Sense 2.1 or a more stripped down rom will be faster.

Use Windows Mobile messaging instead of HTC Messaging if you aren't already.

Can you point me to where I can download WinMo messaging please? Or how I can enable it?

in the text tab just tap on all messages and thats the standard WM messaging app. and for sense 2.1 u have to download a 6.1 rom like the sprint basics rom, thats the only rom that has sense 2.1, not many cooks use it even tho its much lighter and more stable than even cfc compressed sense 2.5(tho its close)

Instead of hitting the "x" to exit from the message tab, just hit the phone hangup button to exit. I don't get hung when i do that. Sometimes I forget to click all messages and click the actual message which takes me into the HTC messaging. Just hit the button in the lower right hand corner to exit.
