Contact Pictures erase with Windows Live Sync.

My contact pictures erase with Windows Live Sync on my Touch Pro 2. I've restored the pictures, and they show-up on the contact when I click on the person, but they don't show-up on my list when I look at all the contacts on my phone. When I sync again, it erases the pictures again even when I click on the individual contact. I like Windows Live because I'm able to combine my Facebook and Linkedin contacts together. Microsoft MyPhone keeps my pictures, but doesn't offer much more. Does anyone have a better solution to combine and sync all your contacts and all the info including contact pictures in your Touch Pro 2?

Re: Contact Pictures erase with Windows Live Sync.

heres my question for all the people that integrate FB contacts into the mix..... when you add the FB contacts in, does it affect the PIM.vol at all??? i guess your linkedin contacts can be factored in as well OP

if so, all you have to do is regular backups of your PIM.vol and youll always have all yuour contacts.....then again that might set you up for duplicates, once you log back into FB after a Rom flash, Hard Reset, etc..

**and you could extract the contacts to .csv's, merge them together, put them in outlook or google, and that'll give you a merged list all well for your device..... youd have to keep updating it as you get new contacts though**

Re: Contact Pictures erase with Windows Live Sync.

I've had a portable Windows device since my HP Jornada 680 running Windows CE. My Touch Pro 2 is by far the best of the bunch (more than a dozen). I'm getting tired of tinkering. I'm pretty good at trouble shooting, and I've done the import and export to .csv, PPC Pimbackup, saved PIM.vol etc. I just looking for an app to combine all my contacts (from all my social networking sites), merge all the information under the one contact with no duplicates, and keep it synced up. Does this app exist anywhere?

Re: Contact Pictures erase with Windows Live Sync.

as far as i know the current version of.windows live mobile doesn't support Facebook or linkedin sync unless they updated it. the windows live contact sync usually creates a big disaster in the contact list.

Re: Contact Pictures erase with Windows Live Sync.

Windows Live does support Linkedin and Facebook. I had to copy and paste some of the info to sync with my phone, but everything was there and it wasn't that hard. It's just that it erases my contact pictures.

Re: Contact Pictures erase with Windows Live Sync.

I spent hours researching and I'm giving up. I did a final sync with Windows Live. I then used PPCPIM backup and backed up my contacts. I then logged out of the Windows live app on my phone, and erased all the contacts on my phone. I used PPCPIM backup and restored the contacts. I logged back into Windows live and unchecked the box to sync contacts. All my contact pictures remained, and all contacts that I added via Windows Live remained.

Re: Contact Pictures erase with Windows Live Sync.

I hate how Facebook "integrates" by adding meta tags to the Notes section of each contact.
