Tweak to "auto-lock" using stock Sprint 6.5 ROM?
 

I'm tying to figure out a way to get the phone to go into lock mode whenever it goes to sleep (either by itself, or when I hit the power button). I know I can map lock to a long key press (which i have), but it's nearly impossible for me to ge in the habit of locking it manually this way every time I put the phone in my pocket. I'm hoping there is some tweak I can install without doing an entire custom ROM as I've found the stock 6.5 ROM is otherwise very stable for me, and acceptable in speed.

I use Gyrator solely to lock the phone. I set it to lock on Reverse Portrait (upside down). I'm in the habit of turning it upside down when I want it to lock and it naturally locks when you slide it in my pocket. If you're interested I can go into more detail for the settings to do this.

Yeah, I'm having the same problem. There's a registry key -- DeviceLockWhenSuspend -- that used to work but ever since I've stopped using HTC Sense/CHT it no longer does anything. (So -- if you want to put CHT on your phone, that's one way.)

I don't want to install any additional software if I can help it. So I guess my options are: 1) password protect the lock screen; or 2) map the top power button to Lock.exe and try to develop the habit of turning my phone off. Of those, I'm going to try #2 first.

Hopefully, someone will come up with a much better set of options!

This worked great for me. No password no anything hit the power button and its on....or when the phone shuts itself down then its on

i never butt dial on my TP2 even without locking. and intresting that there are still ppl on that crap stock 6.5 rom

Honestly I've just been too lazy and the stock ROM, although slow, has been extremely stable for me. What are the current top picks for replacement ROMs that are fast and stable? Do the best ones get rid of Sense altogether?

I put on the co0kie and it came with lock device, I didn't know that. the lock device is the best.
I'm still on stock ROM. I have problems with the opera, but my old diamond with the latest custom rom also has some trouble with latest opera too, so I'm reluctant to do all the hard work for little benefit.
