The registry values are at:
Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\PhoneExtendFunction\CDMA\FlightModeOnOFF]
"Sound_on"="\\windows\\PhoneOn.wav"
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\PhoneExtendFunction\CDMA\FlightModeOnOFF]
"Sound_off"="\\windows\\PhoneOff.wav"
If you used a wav and named it PhoneOn.wav, it should play. Also, you can't delete PhoneOn.wav from \windows as it is a ROM file. You can also just try changing the path/file name in the registry to see if it works.

Advanced Configuration will allow you to do that.

The start up pic is welcomehead.192.png in \windows. There's no reason for advanced config or any other crutch to do these simple things. You may as well learn what those programs are actually doing. The animation is defined by the key below (default for sprint shown):
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\HTCAnimation]
"StartupGif"="\\Windows\\SPCS_480x800.gif"
