$%^HELP! My 2yr old F@#Ked up my phone up and now it only calls American Roming

Please help! I had my phone was charging on the usb attached to the computer when my 2yr/old somehow screwed it up. the phone seems fine but now it only calls out to an operator at American Romng. I have had the phone since May 2010 and it has always worked well. Its a TP2 that was flashed to metro with all the bells and whistles. I tried to go to the guy that sold me the phone hoping he could look at ia and maybe fix it for a few bucks but he just wants me to fork over another $250.00 to get another phone. do you have any of your info backed up such as contacts and appointments ect? If so i'd try a hard reset then restore your settings.

before doing a hard reset try this. phone-menu-options-CDMA Services-Roaming mode and then set to automatic

i dont think a hard reset is needed, it seems your phone has lost its programming and a hard reset is not needed to fix that. i had this issue before but with a different phone. i got a replacement phone, they said once i activate the replacement, leave the old phone off for 24 hours... i didnt listen and turned the old phone on to copy contacts and i ended up with the same problem you are having. all i did was call sprint and told them. they walked me thru reprogramming the phone and everything was fine after that. so what you need to do is get into epst and make sure your mdn, meid and everything is correct. have you tried calling your carrier?
