Any way to get icon that notifies me of unread text or email?

Or even a textual way. I added the the "messages" app to the a today screen tab, but it is a static picture. Same with emai. Any way to get somehting that shows you unread messages on the today screen?

Also, how do you turn off that weather animation?

Do I flashed to the Lead ROM, lite version. On the home screen of Sense, there is room for three tabs. If there anythign I can add to those tabs that would tell me if I have an unread message? I added the "messages" app which looks like a speech ballon, but if I get a text, it doesn;t change. Same with the email app added to the tab. Is there a way to get a "dynamic" icon?

If you're on my ROM, you should have the messages tab and email tabs showing you any new notifications. Also, to get rid of the weather animations, you can go to menu on the home tab of sense, then select home wallpaper > picture wallpaper. Select any wallpaper and it'll make the weather animations go away.

OP, not gonna happen... guys hes talking about he added text and email to the quicklinks.. OP, no, youll wont get an unread icon on that, ever..

Now, with manila and sense comes Tabs, the slider and icon at the bottom of the screen???? lol... there is a email and text Tab, both are usually active by default... when you get a new text or email, youll get an unread count on each Tab Icon accordingly.. should your tabs not be active, add them back by going to settings Tab>personalize> add/remove Tabs... these Tabs will show you an unread count(increasing if unchecked)...

but there is no other way to get a "running count" that i know of... especially through the quicklinks

wow id expect to see something like this from the less than 50posts crowd, but yea such notifications are already built into the tp2 even out of the box.

I hate using those tabs though. I think the email/sms "preview" is really dumb, I want one click access to the primary account selection screen, which adding the icons to those tabs gives me.

Doesn't sound like I have a choice though. Thanks anyway!

Frankly you do have a couple of choices.
Cookies Home tab, or If you really hate Manila you might want to look at
iPhone Today .

hes already running 6.5 with quicklinks, all CHT will do is add more quiclinks(and a ton of features hes not even asking for).. no app you add to quicklinks shows a "count" on new messages
