Activesync starting when it shouldn't

Normally I'm set to sync via USB connection. When I'm on the road I change the server IP setting to sync wirelessly. WHen I'm set to sync via USB only, and I'm unplugged, I keep finding activsync running in Task Manager. I kill it, and without being plugged in, it starts again whithin a half hour. All the seetings I know of are to sync manually.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Re: Activesync starting when it shouldn't

Use an advanced task manager where you have access to Notifications (DotFred's for example.)

Among the several copies of repllog.exe, find the one whose "Event" field, under "Properties" is listed as "The system time has changed." Disable.

This has worked for me in the past.

I'm using TotalCommander - I did a "Find" for repllog.exe but only saw one copy of the file and didn't see any "event" field in the properties. Soooo...I'm guessing I DO need DotFreds?

Thanks!

Honestly, have you looked at how little memory the Activesync process uses in a task manager? Very little. It's not enough to worry about in my opinion but if you never use it then kill it.
