Is there an Internet Radio app for stock WM 6.1 on Verizon?

A friend just started his own internet radio station and I'd like to be able to get it other than on my PC. He's an "i" guy so Windows and WM stuff are out of his expertise. Slacker radio (suggested elsewhere on this forum) is only available for WM 6.5 according to their website. Pandora (also suggested elsewhere here) doesn't find his station either because it's too new or because it's too eclectic. The "standard" Windows Media Player doesn't work, or else I don't know how to make it work correctly (in which case, guidance would be most appreciated).

Are there any other apps/players that I could try? Thanks in advance for help.

Download Skyfire browser here:

http://get.skyfire.com/m/tracking_re...type=win_touch

Then point it here:

http://www.tuned.mobi/

Then find the station you want.
Or you could look for and try Wunderadio or SPBradio.

Good Luck!

Re: Is there an Internet Radio app for stock WM 6.1 on Verizon?

I already have Skyfire and tried the tuned.mobi site as suggested. However, all I was able to get to were commercial radio stations that also stream on the internet. The station I'm trying to listen does not have a call sign (not commercial) but does have a website and a URL that I can access via my PC. Wunderradio and SPBRadio seem to be the same type of thing - or am I missing something?

Well, you could just type in the url in the address bar with Skyfire or Opera or whatever and then save it as a bookmark.
Skyfire will probably work best for this.

This is something I found at xda.

If you read the through the first post, it sounds like you can have the author add your friend's station to that list. It might be something worth looking into.

Problem solved!! Pocket Player definitely worked with the URL. For some reason, Skyfire didn't.

Let me know how it works out for you. I've used it for a couple of weeks, and I like it. I have not tried to ask the author about adding a station yet, but there is a local station that I am going to submit to him and see if it works.

If nothing else, at least it is free.
