tp2 getting stuck on bootloader when trying to go back to stock rom
Hoping someone can give me some fresh ideas here as I am running out of ideas and also patience with this thing today.
Basically I am trying to go back to stock rom so I can bring my tp2 to the vzw store and maybe get a replacement, since the phone doesn't want to take charge from the wall outlet anymore unless it is turned off. It also thinks the headphones are plugged in when they are not (and only puts audio through the headphone jack as a result). So I get the phone connected with Activesync, enter either MR1 or MR2 install (have tried both). After I go through all the prompts the phone goes in to bootloader and hangs. Interesting part is that my PC hangs as well (can't move mouse or do anything). It will stay this way forever until I unplug the USB, then the computer will come back to life but the phone remains in bootloader (but does display Serial message once unplugged). Right now I have a recent version of Energy cookie monster on there, and I have hard reset it a few times. Please help I just want to get stock rom on this sucker so I can take it in! thanks in advance rp |

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=95375 I suspect you have a bad usb connector on your device. There might be a pin missing or bent. Good Luck! ;) |

worked thanks! wish I tried that earlier lol...now how painless do you think going to a vzw store to get this sucker replaced will be haha probably not so much is my guess.

Re: tp2 getting stuck on bootloader when trying to go back to stock rom
depends with what your saying is wrong with it..
BTW, VZW doesnt give TP2s anymore, so when you take it in their gonna give you an Imagio... I think real hard if your issue is worth losing your TP2 over, ya know |

Yeah, maybe take a close look at that connector and see if you can possibly fix it. |

Well people at the store were useless...was just told to call customer service. Unfortunately the issues with this phone are too serious (no audio except through headset as well) and I just need a new phone. The insurance company doesn't keep refurb tp2s around anymore? I'm going to argue to CS that because this phone has a physical keyboard the replacement needs to as well, and just hope they send me a droid 2 haha. On another note after I installed stock rom, I did *228 both option 1 and 2 but when I try to make a call I get automated message saying Verizon can't authenticate my phone. Any ideas on that one? thanks again to you guys! |
