Question HTC PRO 2 speaker problem after wet

I put my HTC PRO 2 phone in my cup holder in my car. It had a little water in the bottom.

Now the water indicator is red.

Everything works except the external speaker.

I have tried letting it dry out for over a week,

I even put it in the dryer inside several pairs of socks.

Any suggestions?

The speaker icon appears light grey.

Re: HTC PRO 2 speaker problem after wet

You could have corrosion/poor contact between the speaker and the mainboard.

You could try this, it says GSM, but I don't see why it wouldnt work. Maybe someone would know for sure.

Re: HTC PRO 2 speaker problem after wet

Thnks for the feedback. I elected not spend any more time on it and pay the $100 insurance deductable.

It still puzzles me that the speaker is the only thing that did not work, after getting water on the bottom of the phone.

Bottom of the phone? sounds like the headphone jack is shorting out, probably just clean the contacts and it would work again, try plugging in some headphones and unplugging them.
