IMAP4 for gmail

Does anybody know how to setup IMAP4 for a gmail account?? Im trying to set it up for my school email address and it doesn't seem to be working...not really sure what I could be doing wrong here. Can anyone walk me through the steps??

not sure if you want to set up your school email (assuming that your school uses google apps), but here are the settings for this scenario:
start your mobile outlook and create a new email under options. after you enter your email, name and name of account, the incoming mail server should be: imap.gmail.com and the type IMAP4. Your user name is your email. The outgoing server is: smtp.gmail.com and make sure you check both the Outgoing server requires authentication and Use the same user name and password for sending email. Then choose your settings you like and click finish. presto.
