Set Text Message to Vibrate Only When Ringer is Set to Vibrate

Is it possible to set text message to vibrate only when the phone ringer is set to vibrate. Currently if I enable vibrate for text messages they vibrate at all times.

This is a problem when I am listening to music at work ... if I get a text the phone vibrates even if the ringer is set to silent

if you check the vibrate box it will vibrate at all times. If you uncheck it, it will only vibrate when the phone is set to vibrate.

I didnt really understand your question but I hope that helped.

Maybe I was trying to do this in the wrong location. Is this located at Settings, Sounds, Notification sounds, Slider at top (Adjust to Off, On or Only)?

If not can you please tell me where you found this. Thanks a lot btw, I think this is exactly what I want to do.

See if you set your texts to notify you with a sound and vibrate... When you turn your phone volume down to vibrate at work... You will get a vibrate notice when a text comes in and when the volume is up you will get audible and vibrating notifications.

The only problem now is if I turn up the system volume (not the ringer) to listen to slacker radio, my phone will vibrate when a text message comes in. Not sure if there is any way around this afterall ...

Thanks btw

go to sounds & notifications, notifcation sounds, select New text message from the drop down box, and uncheck the 'vibrate' check box. It will only vibrate for text messages when the phone is on vibrate
