Re: TP2 screen stopped working, need to "slide to unlock"

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I am in the same situation as the OP.

I am using the stock Sprint ROM for the HTC TP2. Its WM 6.5

I have found a roundabout way of making outgoing calls, by using Google Voice to dial out and connect with my phone, as I can still answer incoming calls with the hard buttons.

But I need to find out how I can slide to unlock without using the touch input? Perhaps there is some keyboard sequence or combination of hard buttons that would trigger the PIN entry screen where I could then enter the PIN using the keyboard?

Any suggestions?

Or if there is any way with any kind of tools to access any of the data stored on the device memory, that would be helpful, too. But I fear that the phone needs "unlocked" first.

Thanks guys!

I really think your best course of action is to go to a Sprint Repair Store and pay the $40 or whatever to fix your screen. They can do that without hard resetting it. I just don't see any way of getting past that lock screen without a hard reset the way it is right now.

I wonder if MyMobiler would work... I don't see why not.

Re: TP2 screen stopped working, need to "slide to unlock"

Have you tried remote display from the Windows Mobile Power Toys? I haven't used it on a device with a malfunctioning touch screen so YMMV.

Download details: Windows Mobile Developer Power Toys

edit- this will probbaly only work if you have an Activesync partnership already set up, or if you're able to set it up with a broken screen..

I ended up getting a replacement phone sent from Sprint via UPS. None of the stores nearby had replacement parts to work on the phone locally. I have TEP, so the replacement was covered, but I wish I could still get the data...

I tried using this and it seemed buggy, possibly because it is intended for legacy WM stuff? Even when testing it on my working phone, I couldn't get it to display anything.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions, but I knew in the back of my head that I was going to have to face the fact that I won't be able to access the data without taking apart the phone...

Re: TP2 screen stopped working, need to "slide to unlock"

my screen stopped responding two weeks ago and i thought here comes new phone but i found a fix that worked for me and it has worked ever since.i ran my fingernail around the edge of the phone at where the overlay meets the case.basically cleaning the gunk out.

Re: TP2 screen stopped working, need to "slide to unlock"

Cool! It won't have any success on the TP2 however as the screen is not recessed like it is on the Titan. Thanks for your input though!
