I've used this one, it's a pay app, but I think it works very well.

I've used it many time with the phone in "airplane mode" and it works very well, very low battery drain.

i understand, and i appreciate your suggestion, it led me to dig more into a standalone tracking app (i wasn't sure if there even were any). the one you suggested was a pay app. the one i found was free.. :-D

I tried smartphone tracker and none of my SMS texts showed up at all until I uninstalled and rebooted it.

I use Mobile Spy, not bad.
