Sprint TP2 Replacements

My brand new TP2 was purchased in late January and about a week ago the microphone stopped working. The Sprint Store is replacing my device with a most likely refurbished TP2 which I am not too thrilled about given the fact that the device is not discontinued. Has anyone had any experience with TP2 replacements from sprint? Can I expect a device with the quality I came to expect from using a brand new retail version?

Re: Sprint TP2 Replacements

I am on my third TP2, the second one I got from Asurion ended up with a bad volume down key and some memory issues, and my refurb doesn't work as nice as the first two brand new ones I had and the stock rom SD Card access was way slower than it was supposed to so I flashed Mr. X's custom rom on it. I couldn't run Android from stock rom, and still can't even with Mr. X's rom, which makes me wonder if something is still jacked up, but other than that the phone works fine.

Re: Sprint TP2 Replacements

My main concern is if the screen on the replacement will be as sensitive and responsive as my original.

Back with my mogul and touch pro replacements, the screens kept getting worse and less sensitive.

Re: Sprint TP2 Replacements

Warranty replacements will always be refurbished, although with Verizon, if you go through three of them, they'll send you a new one. Don't know if Sprint does the same. I try to avoid using the warranty unless it's necessary, as I've ended up with refurb that had worse problems than the original (I always have them mail the replacement to me so I can thoroughly test it for several days before deciding which one to keep or return).
