I just bought a used HTC pro touch 2 from sprint off a friend. They say i cannot use the phone unless he pays his like 400 dollar bill. Im wondering if i can just do the ##778# code and enter my MSID number. Helppppp

Can you provide more information? like what is the TP2 branded with and who you are trying to use it with?

Edit, sounds like its a Bad ESN number, unless he pays his bill your pretty much SOL.

Dude that sucks! let me guess he is no longer with sprint?
just adding my 2 cents. But to answer your question, from what remember from my days w/ sprint. That no you will not be able to do that. There is another # that linked to the phone and ur buddy's account called the ESN. Thats what preventing you from activating it on ur account. I have haven't heard of anyone being able to get them to do that, but it might be able to be done. Maybe someone will be able to give you more info than I can.

Ask your friend for your money back! Some friend... Craigslist???

Always call the carrier and check if the ESN is clean and not attached to any account before you by it.

My advise if it's not Cricket that you are dealing with. Flash it to cricket and sell it. Wash hands and be done, if of course you can't get your money back from your friend.
