3G Icon instead of EV ??

i"m running a custom custom rom ,it displays the EV icon instead of the 3G that came with the stock taskbar..is there a way to get the 3g back? i been searching everywhere with no luck all i been finding is using a different taskbar but i dont want to use a different taskbar i'm fine with everything stock that came with the custom rom..i just want the 3g icon back to me is just visually more appealiing than ev.Maybe some kind registry edit? i'm a real noob

You really do need to just use a different taskbar or edit the DLL with the image you want ... which is a pain in the butt.
