Any way to auto-off the screen without S2U2/Equiv Program

What i want is a very basic program or registry change that will shut
Off the screen after 5 seconds like S2U2 does. It drives me nuts that
the phone turns on randomly (regardless of roaming/tower changes).
Because when it does, And its in my pocket, The phone will just suck
down the battery as my pocket constantly touches stuff on the screen.

I loved that 5 second/screen off thing that S2U2 does.
But i find it silly that i have to install a memory-hogging program that
does something windows should allready have. I have used all versions
of S2U2 before, And just find that it slows down the phone, And doesnt
answer properly every once in awhile. That is a pain in the rear when
a client calls me from an unlisted number that i can't simply call back.

Sooo, Any advice on a 5 second auto shutoff option that also keeps
the screen locked at the same time?? Keep in mind, That i have Searched.
And haven't seen much about how to pull it off.

maybe try setting your backlight or the standby time to time out after 5 sec through the settings menu. or try smart lock (i dont remember if it had the option you are looking for but it does have more options than lockdevice). i use pocket shield now.

and if the phone awakes randomly in your case/pocket you can use this cab that automatically turns the screen off when light is blocked to the proximity sensor

Re: Any way to auto-off the screen without S2U2/Equiv Program

all these threads confuse me. what is wrong with the built in lock of the phone???

even if it gets woken up, it is on the lock screen so it won't stay on past the default for your backlight settings.

one word....boring lol. the lowest you can set your screen to shut off is 1 minute. so that would really kill the battery.

I would suggest what lansing100 posted. I would probably use that if i didnt pay for pocketshield and am so used to it now. This is a great find!

Wow! Thanks!!!

And NO, The factory screen lock doesn't do the same thing as
another member had mentioned. I just LOVE it when your pocket
dials people and opens programs (sarcasm)

There is a 2nd edition of Pocketshield named "Proximity", works as shown in video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpxY9t34TTI
