Faster performance with sense 2.5 and mighty rom
Hi total nooooooob here.
i just got the htc touch pro 2 with sprint. i was so upset with the performance of it that i did something i never did before and that was "mess" with my phone. i installed the new mighty rom and a few ".cabs" and its much better, BUT i still feel like its not performing as best as it could. with having no applications open the usage is at 75%!!!! Can anyone offer me some tips on how to free up my ram? i used the skTools auto clean and freeupram. i'm afraid to add any new things to my phone only cause it'll slow it down. HELP. you dont have to be nice, if there is some obvious thing that i'm missing please dont hesitate to point it out, b/c if theres something to be missed i'm missing it. thanks in advance for the help. this forum is great!!! |

That is probably the number one topic on this board. Before you get flamed too many times do some searches and look at the stickies.

Re: Faster performance with sense 2.5 and mighty rom
hahaha! well a lot of the things i read were in regards to stock roms or they didn't work with sense 2.5 or the new sprint 6.5 rom update. theres that one thread that tells you how to speed up the performance bu he makes a huge disclaimer of it being only for stock roms. i've been searching and lurking around, but couldn't find one that was specific for sense 2.5 and it being ok for a custom rom.
i'm assuming i'm missing something...and i guess getting flamed isn't a good thing. |

First , turn off weather animation , then search for Cleartemp and finally get a app called clearRAM (set the Clean to 3 ) . Run Cleartemp first (Select All) Then CleamRAM (Stage/Purge 3 ) and restart and you should see an improvement .. im running 63%-65% the highest when everthing closed.. thanks Sprints700wx.
i dl'd and installed the clear temp cab. i went the htc addicts to dl the CleanRam. when i dl'd it there are 2 updated files one is 2.2 oem, and the other is 2.2 exe, they both seem similar. but when i opened the zip file i didn't see any ".cab" files, instead i see application files, and i see two of them. any help? sorry for the noob questions. i dont wanna end up worse than when i started. thanks again. |

Re: Faster performance with sense 2.5 and mighty rom
i run at about 65% after a days use with Mightyrom...the newest Special Edition to be specific..if you opened a bunch of stuff in manilla then i can see how u got up to 75%. i noticed when i tweak a bunch of options in manilla and use my screen lock i can never get that RAM back..its almost like a cache..the phone doesnt really slow down..just annoying that Manilla cant free itself up again..

Search for "resproxy" and "ShareMemSize". This is an older post from Mike:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...4&postcount=32 But looks like he now leaves this feature turned on in the current ROMs. I used to turn it off as that seemed the 'norm' for a while, but now I don't bother. I run with about 80% memory used with nothing open! The phone works fine. |
