annoying:received text during call

So when I am in a call and receive a text the ringtone for my text sounds in the earpiece and I can't hear a thing while it does so. Mine is like 6 seconds long so it's quite a bit of time which is annoying.

Anything I can do about that?

try turning OFF message notifications. Usually works.

well yeah that would work but wouldn't that turn off my notifications in general? I like having notifications its just a nuisance when i'm in a call and then my text ringtone blasts in my earpiece and i have to stop talking for a few sec

I have disabled notifications during calls by doing some regedits on one of my tp2s but it didnt work on the other. The one it works on is using 6.5 and with 6.1 alerts still ring through. I'll keep trying to figure out the differences so I know what exactly makes it work. Or maybe I just broke something lol. When not on a call I get all alerts so I think everything else works fine still.

Edit: There is PhoneAlarm which I havent tried and its not free. http://www.pocketmax.net/phoneAlarm.html

I've tried a few different hacks to disable message alerts while taking a call and none worked except this one. Uninstalling will not bring in call message alerts back but I dont know why you would want them back. Did a hard reset to make sure it works(on stock sprint 6.5). I still could not get it to work on stock sprint 6.1. If it doesnt work,well sorry I tried lol. Im not as geeky as I should be.

all of a sudden recently the sound has changed from just the short 1 to that & an annoyingly long sound after. i wonder can ppl hear it ... i do know it screws up conversations & sometimes im on a business related call & while im sure it wouldnt screw up potential, its annoying as i like things 2 b smooth
