Rom eraser

I came across an app that would erase the rom before flashing a new one so one does not have to flash to stock before custom cooked rom. DOes anyone know where this is? I can't seem to find it

There is hot debate over this but make it a short story sometimes things get stuck so in order to ensure you clear everyting and do not leave bits from the previous rom ERASE it and flash fresh just stops troubles

Thanks thats the one guys

Re: Rom eraser

Might I be bold and ask what are the symptoms of a ROM that hasn't been fully erased? I have always thought winMo was buggy, it would be great if this took some bugs away.

Re: Rom eraser

Thats the purpose of task29, although I did have it one time NOT boot up the phone after using it.. Nothings full proof.

You dont need to reflash to stock, just replash your new rom again. Sometimes the overwrites dont take right. Unless you screwed with the radio you shouldnt need to reflash to stock. I learned on my computers that when it just gets stupid.. Zero it out (program that writes one's and zero's to the drive whipping out your current boot sector & all) and have a new boot sector set. You'd be surprised what can be left behind sometimes.
