Wink Baffled by Text Message Voice

So I was listening to Pandora while walking down the street.

A text message came in, I heard the chime/ring notification.

Then, out of nowhere I hear a robotic voice read the incoming text.

I know I'm quiet the dolt for asking this, but I'm sayin though...what is the deal with this feature ?

I love it, and it makes me chuckle when it reads my friends messages.

Another issue I'm hoping someone could shed some light on :

I listen to Pandora a whole lot, and I recently purchased a pair of overly priced Sony earphones. And I don't know if they earphones suck or if the TP2 has really low volume settings. I like to blast a couple of tunes that drive me mad, but I can't get past a certain volume level on my TP2.

Any1 ?

Re: Baffled by Text Message Voice

this will make your phone louder. it tweaks some of the sound settings. there are a few different audiopara tweaks floating around if you search for them.

Re: Baffled by Text Message Voice

you have 2 volumes you need to check on while listening to music... if you want it loud, you have to have the device volume all the way up AND the player volume up..audiopara hacks are ok, but usually you cant lower your volume..(ie: moving volume to one bar, still has same sound for incoming text as volume all way up)

Re: Baffled by Text Message Voice

I had this happen on my TP1 when I had it and had no idea why. After getting my TP2, It happened a couple of times. I noticed it was texts from one person in particular. Her texts were marked as urgent, important, or something like that. I sent a message from someone else's phone and set it as urgent and it read that one out loud also. Never figured out how to set it to read on my end. The sender's settings determine if it reads it out loud.
