ActiveSync - 2 KB is only option for Download Size Settings

My company recently upgraded it's Exchange Server. For some reason the only option for the email download size is "2 KB" and "Headers Only". I am hoping there is a change that I can make somewhere in the registry to allow me to choose a higher size limit, such as 10 KB, 20 KB, or even "Full Message". Does anyone know if there is a way to do this? Is this set somewhere on the Exchange server? I'd be nice if some sort of a script program could automatically activate the "Get the rest of this message" link for all messages. Can MortScript do that? I did search the forums and can't find any answers. Thanks in advance!

Re: ActiveSync - 2 KB is only option for Download Size Settings

I would ask your exchange administrator. I can't imagine a valid business case for limiting downloads to 2kb in this day and age of unlimited data plans (unless you're all on some ancient measured data plan?). I'd say it's got to be a setting on their end, though I'll admit I've never heard of that one. If it is, it would be better to solve it "for rea"l than try to hack things on your phone, bypassing server policies (risking your job in the process) and letting your IT people think they did a great job with the migration when they were really phoning it in.

I use hotmail and it has the same settings. I figure its a software limitation on the phone.

I use hotmail and I have the options of larger file downloads. I do not know about exchange servers.

You should have 2kb, 5kb, 20kb, 50kb, headers only, all text, no pics, or entire message for exchange.

Thanks for the input. I was hoping that I could do something myself, because my phone isn't company issued; it's just connected to the exchange server. There would be nothing forcing the exchange admin(s) to even respond to me. I will give it a try though. If I knew exactly what they need to change they may be more responsive, rather than having to dig into it themselves.

My advice would then be to find as many people as you can that have WinMo phones and the same issue (assuming they do, which would be good info as well) and group your request together. Like I said, I've never heard of this one before but to my knowledge on the newer exchange servers the admins have a lot of control over your options and settings on your phone.
