Help? Broke my "Settings" tab... Reinstall WM 6.5?

Hey guys. I was installing various cabs on my TP2 yesterday, and must have installed something stupid, because I can no longer view settings on my phone. I tried hard reseting, and it doesnt do anything! The phone just resets and everything stays the same.

So im thinking im going to have to just cut my losses and reinstall wm 6.5, what do you guys think? What would be the best way to do this? Just download the stock rom from the HTC site, and install?

Also, are there any programs I can use to back up everything on my phone, cabs and all (after if fix my phone)?

Thanks guys.

XDA UC or Sashimi are two popular programs to install CABs after a flash.

Sprite Backup, PIM back up, or SPB Back Up all offer device back ups(I recommend incremental restores as some restores could affect your phone negatively).

When you say you cannot view settings, can you get to the settings tab in Sense?

I cant get to the settings tab in sense/ or by any other means. It is there, but when i go to it, the settings page doesnt come up. It just sits there, and after I go to it, it causes everything else on my phone to not up load either. I cant get to setting by going to the start menu either (same thing happens).

AHHH! thank you. I was hard reseting through "ShutXP", and it wasnt actually hard reseting the phone for some reason. I just did a real hard reset w/ power/talk/end and it worked. Thanks!

Re: Help? Broke my "Settings" tab... Reinstall WM 6.5?

First I would suggest uninstalling everything you recently installed. After all your recent programs are uninstalled soft reset your phone. Specifically anything that might tweak manila will be more likely to affect this.

I've never experienced this issue directly, but if you don't wanna **** around, a hard reset will be sure to fix you up right away!

*edit*
Just saw your last post...a hard reset within the phone (Start > Settings > System > Storage or Clear Storage) will be better at fully wiping your phone, although the method you used will work as well.
