Recommended radio patch for roaming on Sprint?

I've got a Sprint TP2 with the stock radio they provide on the recent 6.5 ROM. I use CDMA-only and don't have a GSM account.

I live in the NorthEast and Sprint coverage is spotty here. Verizon and US Cellular have coverage where Sprint doesn't, and my Sprint plan allows me to roam without add'l fees on the other networks.

However, my phone will presently hold onto a Sprint signal until it becomes so weak that I lose the call. After the call is dropped, the phone will pickup a roaming signal and I can redial. If I'm using a roaming signal and it becomes weak, I will also lose the call before reconnecting to Sprint's network.

Is there a radio patch that will enable my phone to switch between sprint towers and roaming towers without dropping the call? Or is this capability controlled by the switch/tower?

Appreciate any recommendations from the community on this...

You can try this cab it lets you switch when ever you want. It gives you a program to just switch between home and roam. Can't remember who I got it from though.

THANKS very much! This utility is working for me. When I travel to areas that have weak Sprint coverage, I can force to ROAM only and never lose a call. Afterward, I switch back to automatic. Thanks again!
