Can't flash, "headphone mode"

I'm on MightyROM but I don't suspect that this problem is due to the ROM. I'm not sure where exactly this problem starts, so I'll just list what I noticed in order:
1. Stuck in "headphone mode" - no sound from calls, alarms, or media. Tried reinserting the jack several times, doesn't go away.
2. Trying to flash back to stock so I can take the phone in to Verizon, but WMDC won't connect. Where it should say "connected," it says "error."
3. Tried running the stock rom .exe anyway but it says "This Update Utility cannot be used for your phone"
4. To top it off, my keys are locked in my car and it's running.

Any help on any of these issues is greatly appreciated.

Re: Can't flash, "headphone mode"

Try to put the phone in bootloader mode(Hold Vol down and power while hitting the soft reset button) Then flash from pc while in bootloader.

Make sure your using this stock rom: RUU_Rhodium_W_VERIZON_WWE_1.18.605.12_RS_1.88.07WV _NV_VZW_1.65_0811_PRL58002_Ship.exe

Oh:
Customer service phone number for AAA is 1-800-222-4357. Lol..

Re: Can't flash, "headphone mode"

did you soft reset while your headphones were plugged in? I did that once and got no sound whatsoever until I reset with the headphones unplugged.

Nope - happened when I just took othem out during normal use. I've tried every combination of putting them in/ taking them out and hard/soft resetting I could think of. Taking it in tomorrow, just hope they don't mind my case is dyed black...

Re: Can't flash, "headphone mode"

My sprint tp2 did the same thing last week...had 3.5mm headphones plugged in, when i unplugged them, it stayed in "headphone mode".
i soft reset twice, took the battery out, hard reset, and tried several combos of resets, replugging/unplugging the headset. nothing worked.
oddly, the problem went away overnight while on the charger...

Re: Can't flash, "headphone mode"

If the problem can't be fixed take it to you're Verizon store, have them replace it if they can't fix it, wait no you are on a custom ROM... follow Hypnotic2010 advice to flashing back to stock.

Re: Can't flash, "headphone mode"

Do the headphones work if you plug them back in?

This happened to me too. try starting the program that was being used when you took your headphones out previously. insert headphones, then halt whatever player is being used, then remove headphones.

This worked for me. it seems like it was stuck in the particular program i was using ( i think windows media) and until i retraced my steps, nothing worked.

Re: Can't flash, "headphone mode"

Mine came out of headphone mode randomly as well, but went back in after I tried using the headphones again. Flashed back to stock and took it to Verizon, where the rep used canned air in the jack. I showed him that this wasn't a permanent fix and they're sending me a new one. Thanks, everyone.
