Modding my phone, Help please.

Hello all, A bit about myself. I am 24 have a minor in applied computer science and love trying to mod all my computer toys.... I bought an HTC touch pro 2 around december. As far as i can tell it has manila 2.0.... so I need to update that if I understand all the forums correctly.... my questions are... I have found a small chunk of stuff I like... (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=100758) (I want allof this stuff expcept for his clock, can I find another clock for manila 2.1 and install it??) how do I put it together/intall it... and do I need all of it or are there parts that are redundant.
I know this is a lot of questions and for many of you I am going to look like a noob but, if i don't ask I won't learn... explanations are welcome to what every part does... I am a computer Hardware specialist so when it comes to software I struggle a bit with the different languages.
Thanks,
Timmi
P.S. I have "MightyROM_RhodiumW_021010.exe" for what I believe is the rom for manila sense 2.1. how do I load that to my phone and is that needed for the above stated mod?

Re: Modding my phone, Help please.

first off, you will need to unlock your phone before you begin to flash the custom ROM which you downloaded. Make sure you read the instructions fully before flashing your phone.

Once you are flashed you can begin to install the Dusk theme. I believe Dusk will theme most of your WM device, for the extras (dusk shutdown, dusk task bar, etc) you will need to download and install those CABs. Dusk task bar requires you install SDK Certs beforehand.

You can search google for different Manila 2.1 clocks. Once dusk is installed, install your clock.

Re: Modding my phone, Help please.

ok,
So I have been trying to unlock my phone.... thats been a real joy... says I have already used the program and unlocked a phone before (thats a negetive ghost rider)... so I put in a ticket....
heres a quick question.... I have read in the forums how to look up the version of manila that you have.... I think its 2.0.... but, I am not sure... how do I find out for sure... cuz a friend of mine just got a tp2 and he installed a custom theme without unlocking his phone or installing the rom.... just curious if I am doing this right.

You can check which version you are running by going Start > Settings > System > Device Info > Software.

Did you disable all AV software before trying?
