Best ROM for a newbie.

So I want to start messing around with this phone. I'm new to the whole ROM thing, but I'm an expert at installing cab files lol I think I understand the whole flash deal. But here's my situation:

I know I have a GSM phone (t-mobile).
I have stock 6.5 installed.
The phone has been eating up battery like crazy.
The phone lags terribly, RAM usage is horrible, even with cleanRAM running every 3 hours.

I was looking into android, but I use GPS and camera a lot, I think last time I checked, it wasn't working to well for the GSM.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Re: Best ROM for a newbie.

If i may reccomend:

1. Coocked one - Energy rom/Near the stock Ark_n rom
2. Coocked one - leo Cell rom/Near the stock athine/

This roms are the best. I cant make my mind between Energy and Ark. Well to be honest, I need 4 tp2 phones to run them all.

There are allso other like, e2, Deep shining, josh ... and others.

Try manila 2.5 21898 roms, thay are with win 6.5 (like yours).
23xxx rom is with 6.5.x windows mobile.
I didnt try 23xxx bild.

there is posibility of dual boot android and winows... but i dont know nothing about it.

Good luck

Thanks, I'll search those now. Now, how do I keep my apps I already have or do I have to reinstall? Or will they even work with the new rom?

Re: Best ROM for a newbie.

I have used many many ROMs for my TP2 and I have settled on AthineOS 6.5.5 23xxx build. It has the most features and is very quick and customizable.

b16b (the ROM cook) provides a CHome only version (CHome is the WM default UI), or Sense 2.5 version. He also provides 6.5 21xxx builds. I use CHome Only 23xxx build and iPhoneToday 1.5.1 for my program launcher/UI. Sense is too slow for me and it doesn't do what I need it to.

All that said, it's also very dependent on your personal taste.

Re: Best ROM for a newbie.

Moved to the Touch Pro 2 forum.

Please Note: The Upgrades sub forums are only for ROM release threads. Discussion regarding specific ROMs should be made in their respective threads, while general ROM questions should go in the main forum.

No worries though!

What's the HTC client. What is the difference between having it and not.
